We are a Not-for-Profit Organization, registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The Council has been promoted by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) with financial support by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
The affair of the MESC are to be guided by its Governing Council, Chaired by Shri Subhash Ghai, an eminent film-maker. The Governing Council comprising of members from all subsector of Media & Entertainment. The key members are from - Film and TV Producers Guild, Film Federation of India, Association of Radio Operators of India, Indian Outdoor Advertisers Association, Indian Broadcasting Foundation, and FICCI-Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming & Comic (AVGC) Forum.
Media & Entertainment Skills Council has occupational standards for 64 aspirational job roles including Digital /Social media domain on which skills trainings can be imparted (http://mescindia.org/qualification-packs.php).
In addition, the Media & Entertainment Sector Skill Council aims to serve as a single source of information on M & E sector with specific reference to Skill and Human Resource Development in India. The Council is also implementing Standards, Training, Accreditation & Reward Money scheme (PMKVY) of Government of India. Under the PMKVY Scheme. MESC is also associated with various states and organizations such as NSFDC, NSKFDC AND NBCFDC to conduct training for economically weaker section of society and aspirants who intend to pursue a career in M&E Industry.
MESC has been working closely with prominent employers in the Media and Entertainment Sector to offer short and long duration training programs with assured internship opportunities.
